The Earth Sustainable Technology Venture Competition for MBA, engineering, science and technology and other graduate and undergraduate (final year) students, focuses on bringing new, sustainable technologies to market through entrepreneurship. Asia's first sustainable technology venture competition was founded by Prof. Oopali Operajita in February 2007. The competition has been a runaway success and received international acclaim. We are now going global after producing winner after international winner, and receiving accolades worldwide, as well as support from educational institutions, venture capitalists, industry, and leaders and governments around the world! Succinctly, we have become a sustainable technology movement, with a footprint of some 60,000 students. We are honoured that India's legendary, flagship Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), continue to be our education partners. |

We list a few of our outstanding winners from past competitions:
Vivek Nair, Team Leader of Nairao Inventions, winners of the 2010 competition at IIT Madras, is featured in the energy category on Forbes' prestigious “30 Under 30” awards for the very technology that won his team first prize (transforming industrial carbon emissions into carbon nanotubes). To present this technology, and transmute their idea into a viable business plan, the team was mentored rigorously by the competition's excellent mentors. Also featured on the list is Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. View Nair on Forbes' list here.
Team Arid Energy (IIT Kharagpur), finalist at the 2010 Competition, won one of two Special Student Awards at Ecomagination Challenge 2010, and was awarded a grant of US $10,000 by General Electric. Here's the link to General Electric's press release in India's leading daily, The Times of India, Bangalore, 17th Nov, 2010.
The IIT Madras Finalist Team (Greenext Technology Solutions) from the 2009 competition won the first coveted 'Next Idea' Prize from New York City. Mayor Bloomberg personally awarded them the prize.View the coverage from the mayor's office here.
